What is the process of supervision in counselling?

My aim is to foster an environment where the supervisee is willing to be open with themself, have the ability to share their client work and the thoughts and actions around this. As our relationship grows the supervisee will have a readiness to be open and embrace suggestion which comes through our dialogue and an exchange of ideas.

I offer consultative support, individually and in groups and am very happy to work with supervisees from all modalities, during training and post qualification.  .

Having trained with CASCADE Associates (est. by Bridgit Proctor and Francesca Inskipp) I am currently engaged in a supervision development group to further establish my understanding and skills in supervision.

Approved Supervisor with The Metanoia Institute, West London, Edge Hill University Lancashire, Amersham & Wycombe  College in Bucks and Hillingdon’s Action Group for Addiction Management.

Supervision protects clients by involving an impartial third party in the work of a counsellor and client, helping to reduce the risk of serious oversight and helping the counsellor concerned to reflect on their own feelings, thoughts, behaviour and general approach with the client.
